Fumbling dealer showed up on TV – as a card magician
Oh my god, the other night I really choked on my girlfriend’s delicious lasagna when this guy showed up on TV. He appeared in some show as a wildly competent card magician. What that guy could do with a deck of cards… Absolutely unbelievable!
I didn’t choke with admiration, though… nor did I choke because of the lasagna! I choked because I realized something: I had been robbed!
Around two years ago, I used to play poker in a club, a kind of sleazy place, but I enjoyed it… Sometimes a friend of one of the regulars would come there and hang around. He didn’t play himself, had no interest in card games etc.
When he realized how little we cared for having to do all the shuffling and dealing, he offered to help us out. Although he was really clumsy with the cards and never seemed able to pick up even the most basic dealer techniques, we didn’t mind as long as we didn’t have to do it ourselves.
A couple of months later I stopped going to the club. Simply because I had lost too much. I couldn’t seem to win anymore, I was far from breaking even. Of course I never thought of blaming the dealer – I figured my game just wasn’t good enough against those guys or I was having a bad run of luck.
Then this clumsy guy shows up on national television as a card magician!!!!
As a card sharp! Aaaaaaagh!!! I think I’ve been done… if I ever get my hands on him!!
Take a hint from me: Next time you think of calling in a lousy dealer, better get one of those mechanical card shufflers instead. A lot less risky!!! This site has a decent assortment of poker chips and poker tables as well. I’m definitely gonna have some of those for my home game!
Watch the dealer carefully!
