Poker Pressure

Following the final days of the big poker tournaments this weekend was fantastic!  The first Australian to win the Aussie Millions, Stewart Scott, won a tense showdown with Peter Rho.  Then Moritz Kranich won the European Poker Tour competition in Deauville.

It must be totally nerve wracking when the blinds are so high, they would change the national GDP figures of a small nation!  Imagine sitting there with an ok starting hand and your opponent goes all in – do you take him on?

Of course you do…

So you lay down your average starting hand and start praying…. your tournament lies in the hands of the gods…. are you in their favor???

Then down comes the flop…1, 2, & 3…. what does it look like???

You can feel your heart beating…. the crowd is going crazy!!!

Your opponent gets a pair…

You get a chance at a flush…

The pressure must be huge!  I would try and not think about the money, as much as possible.  The chip stacks are huge but you cant let them intimidate you.  You just have to stick to your guns and play your normal game.

I think that I would need to change my shirt after the turn card!!!  And who knows what I would have to change when the dealer lays down the river???

Couldn’t agree more. The pressure must be huge but I suppose you just go with it and ride your luck. What else can you do?
